North East Workspace tenant Myndr has secured a £300,000 investment from government funder Innovate UK.

Started by Lizzy Hodcroft and Emma Reilly in 2018, Myndr currently offers mental health workshops to businesses across the UK.

The investment will enable the business to launch an AI-assisted app, that promotes positive mental health by providing access to peer-to-peer support. To develop the app, Myndr will join forces with another NEWS tenant, Komodo Digital; planning for a launch within the next twelve months.

In 2019, Myndr was named the Federation of Small Businesses North East Startup of the Year. In the same year, it was named a finalist in the If We Can You Can One’s to Watch Prize, of which PNE Group are sponsors.

Lizzy, commented: “We’re incredibly honoured and proud to have received this grant. Most of the funds will be used towards further development and content for the app as we have high expectations to deliver a platform that is contextually smart as well as impactful with practical, actionable steps and content.”

Emma adds, “The way Myndr is made with empowering individuals in mind means that we can support them in identifying issues, exploring different ways they may solve these problems and guide them to choose what solutions they feel will work best for them to move into a plan of action.”
